This service is for licensed professional counselor associates looking to reach full licensure in Texas.
This service is specifically designed for Licensed Professional Counselor Associates who are completing hours toward LPC licensure and seeking quality supervision to develop clinical skills and competence under an experienced counselor educator.
Our program supports associates in expanding clinical intervention skills, improving case conceptualization abilities, developing a personal counseling style, and navigating ethical challenges.
I am passionate about teaching and learning! You will always find me learning something new in our field. I truly believe that our learning and education never stops unless we stop being curious. I emphasize the importance of how our experiences shape us, and how it affects our work with clients. Our awareness of self impacts how far we can assist clients on their journey towards healing.
Supervision is an integral part of counselor development. Our profession is a synergy of personal and professional development. The relationship between a supervisee and supervisor is intimate because it is a space in which both the counselor and client are in view by the supervisor. When I conduct supervision, I am attuned to both you and the client. I liken the experience as a mirror in which I reflect what I see with you, what the client is saying/doing, and what is happening within the relationship between you and the client. Supervision is collaborative, and I expect supervisees to come into supervision with cases to discuss and related questions.
I utilize the discrimination model (Bernard, 1979) as a guide for conducting sessions, which denotes that counselor development is fluid. Supervisees may need more teaching and counseling in sessions early in their development. My goal is to identify if there are issues that a supervisee needs to address and help them see how it may be impacting their sessions. It does not preclude that I will conduct therapy on supervisees, but supervision should be a safe space to hold space for personal issues that arise. I always tell my students that we can’t go where we haven't been ourselves, and sometimes we don’t know that we need to go somewhere. My job is to help you see that you might need to consider working on something. As supervision progresses, my role moves into more of a consultant role. Regardless of the role I take; we will work on determining interventions, personalizing your work and conceptualizing cases.
Our sessions focus on case conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention selection, ethical decision-making, and personal professional development.
My goal is to create a space in which you are safe, supported, ask questions and learn.
We offer convenient scheduling with evening and weekend availability, both in-person and virtual.
We offer individual supervision, triadic supervision (two associates with one supervisor), and group supervision. These flexible options give you the chance to learn in different settings and benefit from both personalized attention and peer collaboration.
All supervision sessions last 60 minutes. This time allows for case consultation, skill development, and professional guidance while ensuring you get the depth of support you need for clinical growth.
